Buses, buses, not enough buses!
For our CA bus outings we get
questions such as: “Why can’t a
second bus be added to this event?”
“Why didn’t you plan for two buses?”

Answers: There are many factors in-
volved in planning CA bus outings, and most residents
are surprised to know that our planning to provide
top-notch trip experiences begins at least six months in
advance. We need that amount of lead time in order to
make necessary reservations not only for bus availability,
but also for large group reservations from the smallest
to the largest venues. At our monthly trip leader meet-
ings we discuss potential bus outings and especially the
“what ifs” that they entail. For example, we examine
ZKHWKHUWKHYHQXHVFDQDFFRPPRGDWHWZREXVHVZHWU\
to predict if an outing will warrant resident interest for
WZREXVHVDQGZHGHWHUPLQHLIWKHUHDUHYROXQWHHUWULS
leaders available to manage two buses.
It is our desire to meet the demand and accommodate
your requests. However, now that you have a snapshot
into our planning process, we hope you understand that
adding a second bus is not a simple matter. You are wel-
come to send me an email with your interests (especially
those upcoming events that you feel would warrant a

least six months in advance!
20th Anniversary Outdoor Concert
Series - East View High School Jazz Band
Tuesday, May 3, 6 – 7 p.m., Amphitheater, free
Bring a lawn chair or blanket and a picnic!
To celebrate our 20th Anniversary we will be
holding 20th Anniversary Outdoor Concerts
through the spring. These events are free to
attend. Bring your own chair or blanket and
enjoy the concert at the Amphitheater. If it
rains there is no rain date or indoor venue.

16th Annual Fish Fry and Silent Auction -

The Sun City Hunting & Fishing Club will
host their 16th Annual Fish Fry and Silent
Auction on Saturday, May 7, in the Sun City
Social Center Ballroom. Come and enjoy one of
Sun City’s most popular club-sponsored events.

several hundred items on which to bid in the Silent Auction.

have outdoor concerts throughout the spring
on different nights of the week. If there is
inclement weather, there is no rain date or
indoor venue.
The Eighth Annual Sun City Garden Tour
Saturday, May 14, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Sunday, May 15, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
$12 pp in advance; $15 pp day of tour*
Presented by the Sun City Garden Club, the
tour includes seven Sun City yards and the
Horticulture Gardens in full spring bloom. See
what plants grow well here and get good ideas
for your own landscape.
*Advance tickets for $12 each are good for both days. Purchase

Advance ticket sales end at 4 p.m. Friday, May 13. Tickets are
non-refundable. Allow two hours to take the tour.
The tour begins at the Sun City Activities Center, 1 Texas Drive,
where attendees will receive directions and a wristband for
admission to each of the yards. Complimentary coffee, lemonade
and cookies will be available throughout the days of the tour.
