The 2016 Follies, “Feelin’ Groovy, Sounds of
the 60s,” directed by Colleen Sigley, will hold
auditions to kick off this production. Grab
your bellbottoms, check out your loco-motion
and come join us. Sheet music for the show is
available. For possible comedy skits, please
contact Colleen. Or, you may bring a 60s song or comedy skit
to audition. We can’t wait to see what experienced or new talent
Sun City has to offer the 60s.

Fall Plant Sale - NEW!

The Horticulture Club is holding their Fall
Plant Sale! Shrubs and bedding plants,
perennials and annuals, vegetables and herbs
will be for sale. There will be drought-tolerant Boyz providing music!
and deer-resistant varieties available, with a
focus on Texas native and adapted plants. In addition to tall
bearded iris, we have shorter varieties available in various
colors. We also sell compost, enhanced hardwood mulch and
our own brewed compost tea. Come early for the best selection.

Visual Arts Club 10th Annual Juried
Art Show and Reception - NEW!
Sunday, Sept. 27, 2 p.m., Activities Center, Free
The Visual Arts Club is proud to present our
10th annual Juried Art Show and Reception.
The show is free and open to the public and
showcases original, affordable artwork in
a variety of mediums including oil, acrylic,
watercolor, Chinese Brush, pastels and more. Artwork is for sale
for the duration of the show, which runs through Friday, Nov.
20. Come and enjoy light refreshments and art demonstrations
by members while you meet the artists and view the show.

“A little Cajun and a little Country”
Dance, sponsored by Sun City Cajun Club

Come help the Cajun Club celebrate its fifth
anniversary! Everyone is invited, including
non-club members. Two bands will perform
on stage: Charles Ray Thibodeaux and the
Austin Cajun Aces and the country band Texas
Legacy from Beaumont. Tickets may be purchased at the Member

Annual Blessing of the Animals - NEW!
Friday, Oct. 2, 9:30 a.m., CCAM
Come join the sixth annual Blessing of
the Animals event at the Cowan Creek
Amphitheater. All are invited to join, including
pets. Dogs must be on leads and cats in carriers.
We have a wonderful lineup of facilitators
including Charlie Welsh, Tom Olsen, Sherry Adamo-Pratt,
Dennis Pratt, Linda Dwyer and Judy Worth. Gary Starns is
handling the sound system, and we have our own Sun City

Austin Lounge Lizards arrangements often
include harmonies and instrumentals that
are themselves a spoof of the conventions of
bluegrass, country, rock and pop music. It’s
no surprise that band members count among
their influences Frank Zappa, George Jones,
Spike Jones, Flatt & Scruggs, Tom Lehrer, and Steve Goodman.
With the founding trio originally playing Austin and Texas dates
while keeping day jobs as varied as bailiff, construction foreman
and administrative law judge, the Lounge Lizards band, with
various supplemental players in and out over the years, have
been touring nationally and internationally since 1987.
