WGA 18-Hole Group

Summer is winding down, but golfing
goes on. After all, it’s still hot out there!
Luckily, we now have White Wing back
in the course rotation.
Our Member/Member tournament will
be held Monday and Tuesday, September
8 and 9. We will have full coverage of
the winners and social in the November
Sun Rays
. Becky Scofield and Pat Blan-
kenship, our tournament chairpersons,
and all their helpers are working hard
to make it a success.
The annual “Fun Fest” withWGA 9-Hol-
ers will be held Monday, September 29.
The after-game social will take place at
the Cowan Creek Pavilion. Linda Copt
and her helpers are “busy bees”, plan-
ning for another successful event. A full
report on this “Fun Fest” will appear in
the November
Sun Rays
.
As always, the WGA 18-Hole group wel-
comes all Sun City women golfers to join
our organization. If you are interested,
please e-mail Barb Jeppe at jbjepp@

Pannell, at

Tee Time Requests
Submitted by Erik Beyer, PGA, Head Golf Professional, Legacy Hills
Tee time requests often exceed the
number of desirable tee times that
are available. The end result is a re-
quest that leads to a less than desirable
confirmation time. To help maximize
the availability of desirable tee times,
resident golfers should do their best to
cancel any time(s) that they don’t plan to
use as soon as possible, so that another
resident golfer can reserve that time. The
golf staff appreciates your attention to
this matter, as it can lead to an overall
better golf experience.

The dog days of summer are finally be-
hind us and fall golf is just around the
corner. Is there a better time of year for
golf in Texas? I don’t think so.
MGA membership now surpasses 615.
This represents a 5% increase over our
year-end 2013 total. During the first half
of 2014, 408 members shared in more
than $30,500 in prize money. Are you
getting your share? Wednesday Playday
participation increases your opportuni-
ties to cash in big.
