The 14th annual Sun Bowl held in May
proved to be a huge success! The theme,
“Par-Tee in the Sun” was most appropriate
as it was a party atmosphere! A total of 50
guests from seven surrounding clubs came
to play! A new parking and transportation
planwas put in place thanks to the vision of
Donna Betts. The plan really worked well
and kept all participants involved safe and
moving! Photo Phil was there to take pic-
tures all day, and Betty Ann Prestonmade
a slideshow that continued through lunch.
With the support of three major sponsors
and seven hole sponsors, the planning
committee was able to provide several
“extra” things this year. While I served
as the chair, it was my dependable and
conscientious committee chairs—Donna
Betts, Jan Bradley, Susan Dimaline, Jan
Dobbs, Jackie Fife, Christy Glandt, Doni
Glassmaker, Donna Hixon, Jane Huffs-
tutler, Anne Marshall, Betty Ann Pres-
ton, Linda Reinhardt, Nancy Robohon, D.
Rowe, Mary Tupacz and Patty Wilson—
who made it all happen! As someone told
me, I had the creamof the crop onmy team
and I could not agree more!
Really great news was reported by Jan
Dobbs, our golf representative: Beginning
in November, we will return to afternoon
tee times through March and morning
times from April to October!
In June, members competed in the two-
day President’s Cup. Each past president
served as captain of a team, with each
team wearing a specific color shirt to
represent unity. At the conclusion of the
tournament, the social committee provided
a pizza and salad social. You will have to
wait until August to read the results of
this event.
Our membership is now 164 strong. In June,
the Executive Board hosted a social at the
home of President Betty Ann Preston for
ladies who joined the group beginning in
January. New members are always wel-
come. Information can be found on the Sun
City Texas website under Clubs &Groups.

Many Sun City Texas golfers participate
in the GHIN Handicap system. Those
golfers know that handicap indexes are
revised on the 1st and 15th of eachmonth.
When this revision occurs, there is a
chance that the course handicap changes.
An easy way to check the appropriate
course handicap fromhome is to go to the
Sun City Texas website,

click on Golf for Residents, then Course
Handicap Tables. If you have questions,
feel free to contact the Golf Shop staff.
