MGA membership has surpassed
our 600 member goal for 2014 and
stood at 617 through the end of
May. Participation in our Wednes-
day playdays, the Spring Member/
Member and the President’s Cup
was outstanding and has resulted
in 398 of our members winning
over $27,000 in Sweeps. We will
update this information at our
July 2 Q2 meeting and in future
Sun Rays
articles.
Your Tournament Committee
continues its work and is making
improvements wherever they find
opportunities. Wednesday play-
days provide a great opportunity
to get an early morning tee time
as summer takes hold of Texas. I
look forward to seeing you during
one of these weekly events.
Here are the details of our re-
maining MGA-sponsored events
in 2014:
• Club Championship
9-Holers play September 3, 5
and 10 and 18-Holers play Sep-
tember 8, 10 and 12
• Rally For The Cure
October 3
• Member/Guest
October 31 and November 1
• Fall Member/Member
November 12-13
Please remember that all of our
tournaments benefit from the sup-
port of our sponsors. These busi-
nesses help us keep our entry fees
low, provide you with outstanding
luncheons and award banquets,
return more of your entry fees
as sweeps payouts and purchase
better tee gifts. Please make sure
you support our generous sponsors
by awarding them your business
whenever possible.
