VAC general meetings are held on the first
Wednesday of each month from 1:30-3
p.m. in the Florence/Georgetown Rooms
at the Cowan Creek Activity Center. The
January demonstration will be by Carol
Light, a well known Texas artist. She
will focus on creating compositions and
when the “creative process” seems to go
wrong—what to do about it! We all need
to see this!
The Sun City Visual Arts Club is part of
the Georgetown Art Walk/Exhibitions
organization and has three galleries in
operation. Our exhibits are in the Atrium
in the Activities Center, the Cowan Creek
Hallway, and the Visual Arts Studio.

The Woodworkers Club is open for mem-
bership to Sun City residents of all skill
levels, whether you’re a retired cabinet-
maker or someone who’s never been in a
woodshop. All newmembers are required
to take an Orientation and Safety Class
and extended Hands-on Safety Training,
either with a Personal Coach or in a class
making Toys for Tots.
The Club Mission is
Working with wood
to safely create, learn and lend a hand.”
Our training classes, safety rules and
extensive library help our members en-
joy wood crafting, whether individually
or in a group project. “Lend a hand” is
an opportunity to volunteer for a variety
of Club projects, like Toys for Tots for
Christmas, Camp Discovery—an Ameri-
can Cancer Society children’s summer
camp, furniture repair for Sun City Texas
residents and crafts for fundraising.
Learn more about our programs and list-
ing of all classes at our website. Visit our
shop for a tour (no sandals, please) and
check out the crafts display.
