How To Engage With Playing Tennis Once You Have Joined SCTTA
The tennis club has approximately 360 members and all are eligible to sign up for leagues, tournaments, and social events. To become a member, sign up on-line through the Sun City website or pay in person at the Member Services Office in the Social Center.See instructions on how to sign up on the front webpage. There are several ways to engage in playing tennis in our club.
PLAYING WITH A PARTNER OR FAMILY MEMBER The courts are available from 6:30 am until 10 pm for Sun City residents and their guests unless courts are pre-reserved for tennis club member activities. Reservations are required. See the Tennis Club website for “How to reserve a court” and the “ Tennis Court Usage Rules” also on the website’s front page.
CLUB OPEN TENNIS Club Open Tennis is an ideal introduction to playing tennis in Sun City. This program provides opportunities for any resident or visitor to play tennis on reserved courts. Club Open Tennis is held every Monday and Wednesday late afternoons from 4 to 6 pm in the winter and from 7 to 9pm in the summer. Playing often in the Club Open program does require club membership. Open Tennis is a great way to meet people in the Tennis Club. See the website information for Club Open Tennis for more detail.
PLAYING WITH A BALL MACHINE Courts 7 and 8 are available for use with the ball machine. See “Ball machine Updated Rules” on the Website front page. There is an additional $10 per annum fee for use and maintenance of the ball machine and use of the ball machine is restricted to courts 7 and 8. See Ball Machine Rules and Regulations for more details on the front webpage.
DAVE's CLINIC A free Tennis clinic for members is held on 330 pm on Fridays and is run by David Dupree. The clinic is fun and a time to improve tennis skills for anyone who wishes to do so. This presents another opportunity to meet and get to know club members in a fun environment.
CLUB MEMBER LEAGUE TENNIS The tennis club sponsors and coordinates men’s, women’s, and mixed doubles leagues. Contact a league coordinator for more information. Membership in the tennis club is required to sign up for Club Member leagues. League Coordinators change year to year and are listed on the Board Members list on the front webpage. Social Events are announced in the spring and the fall for all members to enjoy. These are times to celebrate and engage in tennis playing and socializing for the entire club. Need more information? Visit us via www.sctexas.org or call our current Vice- President, listed on the Board members list on the Website front page.
