Watch your mailbox! NEW 2021-2022 Directory
The next edition of the Sun City Texas Resource Guide & Directory will be delivered to your mailbox this month.
What do I do with my old Directory?
Once your new Directory arrives, please deposit your old Directory in the blue bin located across from the tennis courts at 2 Texas Drive. The Community Association shreds these books to protect your privacy.
Remember, the blue bin is only to be used for disposal of old Sun City Texas Resident Directories.
Friendly Reminder: Pedestrian Crosswalks
The Pedestrian Crosswalks have two parallel white lines (no stripes) and a pedestrian traffic sign. Pedestrians press the button for the light to flash. Drivers, remember that the pedestrians have the right of way - make sure to check crosswalks as you drive.
Golf Course
Walking Access
Walking is not permitted on any of the Sun City Golf courses in the month of June due to the summer maintenance schedule. Golf course walking access will be reinstated July 2021.
It's Heating Up: Keep your dogs safe this summer!
With the first day of summer just days away, help your dogs beat the heat with these best practices for hot weather.
Dogs do not sweat! They can only cool themselves by panting. Leaving dogs in hot cars is especially life threatening to them. Even if the windows are cracked, never leave your dogs behind in the car.
Safety first! Dogs must be on a leash at all times when walking in neighborhoods and on Sun City Community Association trails. And remember, always clean up after you dogs.
Pads on a dog's paw do not offer enough protection when it's over 90 degrees outside. If you cannot walk barefoot on the cement or asphalt, your dog's paws will hurt too.
Didn't get your Sun Rays?
If you did not receive your Sun Rays Magazine in your mailbox by the fifth business day of the month, please go to any Sun City Monitor's desk where you can pick up a copy of the magazine. You will need to provide your name and address so that we can report this missed delivery to the Post Office.

We also suggest that you gently remind your carrier with a note in your mail box that you did not receive your Sun Rays magazine. Oftentimes, this results in the delivery of the magazine the following day, as there may have been a substitute during the normal delivery time frame.
Know of any Local Nonprofit Events for the August Sun Rays?
Do you have a favorite local nonprofit that needs donations or is holding a fundraising event in August or September? If so, email a paragraph (75 words or less) to Nancy Snow at [email protected] by Thursday, July 1. Articles must include: the name and purpose of the charity; the reason it is seeking donations and the name of a contact person with their email address or phone number. Submissions may be considered for publication in the August 2021 issue of Sun Rays.
Native Area Maintenance Schedule
The mowers have started this week by working the neighborhoods near The Retreat. Next, they will move in toward the interior of the community. Please review the following proposed neighborhood order of maintenance.

Although most of this process can be handled by our mowers, there are some areas that are less accommodating and will need to be handled with line trimmers. The Line Trimmers can be two weeks or more behind the mowers. All cuttings will be left where they fall. This is a Firewise exercise only, and not for aesthetic, or any other purpose.
