Its many heritage sites allow us a glimpse into the past as we search for stories that make up the history of Spanish Texas. Our quest will take us to: Mission San José - Queen of the Missions; lunch in the El Mercado - the original Market Square; The Spanish Governors Palace - once the seat of Spanish rule in Texas; and San Fernando Cathedral - America's oldest cathedral sanctuary. We will stand in history's footsteps at Military Plaza and hear stories of The Canary Islanders, the first Spanish settlers of San Antonio, and The Chili Queens who brewed "soup of the Devil". We'll add a dash of whimsey with a photo-op at the world's largest Virgin Mary Mosaic candle, along with tales of Fiesta San Antonio and the Battle of the Flowers. Ticket includes transportation, museum fees, muffin and juice. Maximum tickets: 42 Trip Leader – Jerilee Prather |
