Based loosely on historical events, the film follows Wyatt Earp (Kurt Russell) and his brothers, Morgan (Bill Paxton) and Virgil (Sam Elliot), as they arrive in the booming town of Tombstone, Arizona, leaving behind their gunslinging pasts and hoping to start peaceful new lives. But Tombstone is far from tame and before long, the Earps clash with The Cowboys, a ruthless gang that rules through fear and bloodshed. When The Cowboys push too far, the brothers are forced to take up arms again. Joined by Wyatt's loyal friend, Doc Holliday (Val Kilmer), the foursome stand up against lawlessness beginning with the legendary showdown at the O.K. Corral.
