Depart SCPL 12 p.m.; return 9 p.m. Tickets for this event go on sale on Friday, Sept. 1 @ 8 a.m. For more than thirty-five years Riders in the Sky have been keepers of the flame passed on by the Sons of the Pioneers, Gene Autry and Roy Rogers, reviving and revitalizing the genre. While remaining true to the integrity of Western music, they have become modern-day icons by branding the genre with their own legendary wacky humor and way-out Western wit, always encouraging buckaroos and buckarettes to live life ‘The Cowboy Way’! In addition to being inducted into the Grand Ol’ Opry, the Riders are honored in numerous halls of fame and walks of fame; 2 Grammy wins; and multiple entertainment and music awards. The Carlos Alvarez Studio is a unique black box theater and provides a smaller, more intimate setting. The matinee begins at 4 p.m. We will stop in New Braunfels at BJ’s Brewhouse for an early dinner on our own. If you prefer, you may choose Lone Star Steakhouse, Willie’s Grill or another restaurant in walking distance. NOTE: There may be risers to climb for seating. If you are unable to use stairs and require handicap seating, please state in the comments field when you purchase ticket. Ticket cost includes transportation and general admission theater ticket.
