Bush Library – Dallas Meals on Your Own Tuesday, December 6, $42 pp Depart SCPL 7:30 a.m.; Return 6:30 p.m. Tickets for this event go on sale on Monday, October 3 @ 8 a.m. What would Christmas be without a Christmas tree? See one of the most famous trees in the country, First Lady Laura Bush’s White House Christmas Tree of 2004. Each year the First Lady decorates the Bush Library tree with ornaments from their White House years and this year’s theme is A Season of Merriment and Melody. The tree will be decorated with musical instruments hand-painted by members of the Society of Decorative Painters. In addition, tour the library, visit the Oval Office, view the famous Presidential gifts and the 9/11 artifacts, and weather permitting, stroll the 15 acre park with native grass and shrubs. Following our library visit, we travel to North Park Mall, a covered two-story mall with 110 stores. Enjoy lunch on your own, shop at one of the luxury stores, or simply enjoy the mall decorations and impressive art work. We will make a stop going and returning at Slovacek’s in West. Ticket cost includes transportation and library entrance fee. Volunteer Trip Leader: Ellen Mire |
