How to Research Service Records

As promised to several people at the 20 Jan 2024 Aviation Club presentation:

"How do I find service records for relatives"

I will add links and other information about ways to get information about service records. I have a list from my research about my father, my uncle and my grandfather and am happy to share them.

This Announcement and the list is visible to anyone who is logged into their Sun City account, whether or not they are a member of the Aviation Club.

If anyone has questions or tips, please let me know.

Below are two B-36 articles which were posted on a prior version of the Announcment.

Two B-36 articles linked below

Mentioned at the Aviation Club General Meeting January 2023, The Smithsonian Magazine has a lengthy, very interesting article about the B-36 Bomber.

We recommend reading or downloading the PDF file from the Aviation Club site.

The direct link to the Smithsonian magazine website is probably safe, but it does have a number of pop-up ads that could be distracting.

Mentioned at the Aviation Club General Meeting February 2023, Gen Curtis LeMay had a long history with the B-36 Bomber. We found an interesting article from the September 4, 1950 issue of Time Magazine that has more details.

The link below is to a copy on the Aviation Club site.
