The Skinny on Skinny Dipping
Hippie Hollow. Ever heard of it? It’s a park located on the shore of Lake Travis in Austin and it’s the only legally recognized clothing-optional public park in the state of Texas.

We respectfully urge you to go there if you ever get the notion to disrobe in one of Sun City’s pools or spas. Oh yes, it has happened several times in the past few months. These unfortunate displays compel us to remind everyone that public nudity is against the law and will not be tolerated in our community. At the very least, violators can be charged with disorderly conduct.

So if skinny dipping is your thing, take Hwy 183 and turn right just past Lakeline Mall going north on FM 620 toward Lake Travis, then take…….Well, on second thought, just Google it.

National Night Out
Register Your Party by Sept. 21

Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2018
Block Parties 6 - 9 p.m.

National Night Out (NNO) is a proven way to promote crime prevention in our neighborhoods. Residents volunteer to host an event, be it at a home, common area or apartment complex and invite people to attend. It’s a great way to get to know and connect with neighbors. When neighbors look out for each other, there is less chance of crime occurring in their neighborhood.

Register Your Block Party by Sept. 21
Click Here to register your event via the online submission form. Don’t forget to click the “Submit” button at the bottom! That will send the form directly to the GPD Volunteer NNO Coordinator.

Dog Walker Watch
Last year NNO started a new program, Dog Walker Watch (DWW), which encourages residents to assist local law enforcement as extra eyes and ears while walking their dogs. Click Here to register or get information for DWW. Under “Organization or Agency,” fill in Georgetown Police Department, Georgetown TX.

On the Table Georgetown on 10/2
Register Your Event Today!

As part of the 2030 Comprehensive Plan Update, the City of Georgetown is working to gather representative public input by providing opportunities for residents to share their vision for the future of Georgetown.

In the past, the City has held public meetings to gather community input for planning efforts. For the first time, the City is asking the public to bring the discussion to their own tables, collect input from their peers and report it back. On the Table Georgetown is a citywide engagement effort that will allow residents across the City of Georgetown to participate in a brief small group discussion (8-12 people) all on the same day, wherever they are at. The day is Tuesday, October 2, 2018, which is also National Night Out. Residents participating in National Night Out are encouraged to also consider hosting a small group discussion on their ideas for Georgetown in the next 10 years before, after or during their gathering.
