WHO welcomes all Sun City Texas resi-
dents. We are a cohesive group with a
passion for caring, sharing and serving
the extended community. Our mission is
to support existing charitable organiza-
tions with time, donations and assistance
while fostering camaraderie, fellowship
and inclusion. We meet the fourth Mon-
day of the month. The agenda includes a
salad luncheon and a presentation from
a nonprofit or public service organization,
followed by our business meeting. The
members bring either a salad or dessert
to share and make an optional $10 dona-
tion at each meeting. Annual dues are $10
and may be paid online or at the monthly
meeting. Guests and prospective members
are always welcome to join us. Please let
us know you will be attending so that we
can welcome you with a name tag and a
place to sit. Plan to arrive around 1 p.m.
to find a seat and chat before the meeting
starts at 1:15.
Our guest speaker for October will be Lori
Irvin with Key2Free. Key2Free helps
women recover from sex slavery trauma
and reintegrate back into society. Lori will
discuss sex trafficking in Central Texas.

Crafts that the members have made are
always available for sale at the woodshop
when open. If you have a favorite piece of
furniture to be repaired, we do that also.
Drop by and see our display of crafts or
take a tour of our shop if you are inter-
ested in seeing it after our expanded shop
opens in September.
We maintain a fully equipped woodshop

with jointers, planers, table, band and
miter saws, routers, sanders, hand tools
and clamps. We have on hand a variety of
hardwoods for members to buy.
We provide training classes and extensive
library resources. We conduct orientation
classes twice a month and enhanced class-
es quarterly. Our club and shop are set up p.m. at the Legacy Hills Pavilion. Contact
to accommodate all levels of woodworking.
New members: All new members must
pay through the sctexas.org website or at
the Member Services Office. Please bring

Any member can participate in Toys for
Tots, making toys for children at Christ-
mas; we also make projects for Camp
Discovery and help kids fighting cancer

Zoomers has many very active social
groups with special interests in books,
table games, bowling, movies, dining out,
gourmet cooking, wine and beer tasting.

Zoomers Singles (Zingles)
The Zingles will have their final quarterly
social on Saturday, Oct. 7, from 4:30-6:30

ZIE (Inside Events)
Diamonds on Sunday, Oct. 22 in the
ballroom. A full barbecue dinner will
be catered by Double Sky Catering.
Music will be provided by Jeff Woolsey
and the Dancehall Kings. This event is
sold out, but please contact Barbara at
[email protected] to see if there are
any cancellations.
The ZIE Holiday Gala “Festive Fantasy”
will be held on Monday, Dec. 18. Tickets
will go on sale Oct. 31.
ZOE (Outside Events)
Since we are seeing a trend to book further
out, we have decided to post as many of
our 2018 trips as possible. Check our ZOE
website to see the different tours we are
adding to our program for next year
