days thru Thursdays also is an option if
the Salado room has not been scheduled
for use by another group (check with the
Cowan Creek monitor or at the Sun City
Texas website). Balls and tables are in
the closet of the Salado Room and paddles
are in the cabinet. Please sign the log-in
book on the counter in the Salado Room
whenever you play. Family and friends of
CA members are welcome during non-club
hours and anytime on either of the two
tables in Pavilion at Cowan Creek, if the
Pavilion is not in use.

Tennis at Sun City is for all playing sched-
ules and all skill levels. Whether you’re
just restarting tennis or an active USTA
player, join in and let’s play some tennis!
To reserve a court with your friends, come
to the ball draw at 5 p.m. two days in ad-
vance of your desired play date, or just
show up and play on any available court.
For even more fun, join us and take part
in some of our many other activities.
Try Open Tennis, which features doubles
with no partners, no levels and a friendly
coordinator to get you started. Play Monday
and Wednesday evenings or Friday morn-
ings at times posted on the court schedule
on the bulletin board between Courts 2 and
3. Just show up and have fun!
Use the Tennis Game Finder. Locate other
like-minded (similar skills, schedules, etc.)
tennis players. Sign-up cards are on the
bulletin board.
Join the Sun City Texas Tennis Asso-
ciation (SCTTA) and participate in our
leagues (we offer Women’s, Men’s and
Mixed doubles leagues), tournaments (we

sponsor two weekend tournaments each
year), tennis socials and various other
activities.

Visual Arts

Joining the Visual Arts Club leads to
opportunities for classes in drawing,
painting in oils, acrylics, watercolor,
alcohol ink, pastels and collage. New
friends can be found at meetings,
painting in the studio, taking classes and [email protected]
volunteering for committees. Join us for
fun and friendship for just $12, payable
on the Sun City Texas website under
Ticket Purchases.
Our Apprentice Painters program will
offer an introduction to the Visual Arts
Club on February 17. The event will
be in the Studio and is limited to 14
participants. Cost of a ticket, available
on the Sun City website, is $35 and this
is open to members and non-members of

Our annual “Meet the Teacher” event
will be on January 25 from 2:30-4 p.m.
at Cowan Creek in the Florence &
Georgetown rooms. This event provides
an opportunity for VAC members and
potential members to visit with the
teachers, view their work and ask
questions.
The Visual Arts Club is exhibiting at St.
David’s Hospital the month of January.
You may also enjoy viewing the work of
our many talented members at these Sun
City venues: the Social Center, Cowan
Creek, the Activities Center, Legacy
Grille and the VAC Studio.
The demo at the January 24 General
Meeting will be given by Sally Doran.
With a background in art studies, Sally
will share her talents by teaching classes
in Portraits, Color Theory and Life
Drawing. Sally has further experience
in interior design and has won multiple
awards in many art shows.

The WGA 9-Holers tee off on Tuesdays,
alternating weekly play among all three
Sun City golf courses. In addition, golfers
are encouraged to attend our monthly
general meetings which are held on the
second Tuesday of each month.

WHO welcomes all residents. We are a
cohesive group with a passion for caring,
sharing and serving the extended com-
munity. Our mission is to support exist-
ing charitable organizations with time,
donations and assistance while fostering
camaraderie, fellowship and inclusion.
And yes, men are welcome, too.
We meet the fourth Monday of the month.
The agenda includes a salad luncheon, and
a presentation from a nonprofit organiza-
tion, followed by our business meeting.
The members bring the salads and make
a $10 donation at each meeting. Annual
