2016 Fall Cycle Report
                                                                    JANUARY 2017 SUNRAYS | 11
By Pat Alexander, Chair, Nominating Committee
The fall cycle was a very busy one for the Nominating Committee
(NC) which is responsible for interviewing and recommending
those applicants best qualified to fill vacancies on Community
Association (CA) Advisory Committees to the CA Board of
Directors. Advisory Committee openings are advertised each
spring and fall in the Sun Rays, Communicator, NRO Bulletin
and on the NC website.
Below is a recap of the 2016 Fall Cycle applicants:
 – There were 52 applications for 22 open positions on 10 advisory

   committees.
 – 11 women and 41 men applied.
 – Four applicants withdrew, leaving 48 applicants.
 – Nine incumbents applied for a second two-year term.
 – Five women and 17 men were appointed by the CA Board.
We had an outstanding group of applicants this fall and if you
were not selected this cycle we urge you to try again. If you
are interested in serving on a committee, prepare by attending
committee meetings (Sun Rays page six), visiting that committee’s
website and getting involved in committee activities.
Thanks to Ann Dodson, our staff liaison, for her valuable
support and assistance. Additional thanks to our Vice Chair
Ev Canfield, who provided the statistics for this report. Finally,
a special thanks to all those residents who applied this cycle for
volunteering to spend their time and efforts to help keep Sun
City Texas a great place to live.

Water Matters

Submitted by Carlton M. Mathis, Common Area and
Irrigation Superintendent

Weather patterns continue to be favorable for leaving irrigation
systems off. Temperatures are staying cool enough that the soil
is retaining moisture longer.
WATER MATTERS TEAM
The Water Matters team is available to help you become familiar
with your irrigation system. If you need help setting up your
controller or would like a complete and thorough evaluation
of your irrigation system, send an email to WaterMatters@
sctexas.org or contact your Neighborhood Representative. A
Water Matters Ambassador will come to your home to assist you.
