TOURNAMENT
On Saturday, November 12, the
Sun City Softball Club hosted
a Veterans Day and Blue Santa
Tournament. Team Jantzen of
Century 21 were the co-sponsors.
The Sun City Veterans divided into
3 teams – Red, White and Blue, and
played a three-game round robin.
All branches of the military are
represented by Sun City Softball
players.
The Georgetown Police
Department played the
Georgetown Fire Department in
a battle of the badges. This year,
the police took the title.
The Georgetown Blue Santa
program is one of the primary
charities for the Sun City Softball
Club. A check for $4,100 was given
to Police Chief Wayne Nero to go
toward Blue Santa.
Each year, the president of the
Softball Club, Henry Schuessler,
stays up all night cooking brisket
and beans for the club. With
volunteers bringing the potato
salad, slaw, and desserts, a feast for
well over 200 attendees was held.
