WGA 9-Hole Group Submitted by Kempa Rider
Our year will wrap up at the
annual luncheon, scheduled
for Dec. 13 in the Georgetown/
Florence room at Cowan Creek. Members
of the Social Committee, Paula Sparks,
Colleen Olson, Susan Dimaline, Kathleen
Sheppard and Janet Buss have all worked
very hard to make this event special!
All members are welcome whether you
play that day or not. More information
can be found on our website. During the
luncheon new officers will be installed,
special recognitions given and our 2016
selected charity, Meals on Wheels, will
receive a check from the November sales
of Mulligans for Charity.

The year has flown by, and our league
play for 2016 is rapidly coming to an
end. The end of the year luncheon will
be held on Dec. 13 in the Social Center
Ballroom. The selected charity for this
year’s donation will be the Assistance
League of Georgetown. As in the past,
a collection station will be available for Denham, 2nd Net-Kay Wyckoff, 3rd
members interested in donating on the
day of our luncheon.
Our Club Championship was held on Oct.
10, 11 and 13 at all three of our courses. Russell, 2nd Net-Jacque Carver, 3rd

Our new 2016 club champion for the WGA
18-Hole Group is Ege Riechert, who had
an outstanding round on the last day of
the tournament to win by three strokes.
We want to congratulate Ege for her great
play and sportsmanship. She is just a
wonderful representative of our league.

the Club Championship. This two-day
tournament was played at Legacy Hills
followed immediately by a luncheon
and awards. High fives go to the social
committee for a job well done!
Play this year had a tie score for
lowest overall gross, so the winner was
determined by the lowest score on day two.
Bonnie McGehee with a low gross score
of 82 claimed the title of Club Champion.
Players were divided into four flights and
both a low gross and low net winner was
named in each flight. Flight 1 winners
were Marilyn Scheidt with a gross score of
82 and Pat Perry with a low net of 62. Paula in making the Rally for the Cure a success!
Elmers claimed first place for low gross in
Flight 2 with a score of 90, while Jane

We want to congratulate all of the
winners and, most importantly, we want
to congratulate and thank all of the
participants in this year’s tournament.
We wouldn’t have had such a huge success
without the hard work of our tournament
chair people, the social chair people,
numerous volunteers, the support and
work of our fine staff at the pro shops
and our hardworking group with players’
services.
We wish everyone a wonderful holiday
season filled with joy, good health and - of
course - great golf.
Huffstutler scored the lowest net in the
same flight with a 63. Flight 3 accolades
went to Patty Glynn with a 95 low gross
and Mary Ann Sinayi earned honors for
lowest net with a 60. Winners in Flight 4
were Geri Dauskurdas whose gross score
was 100 and Susan West with the lowest
net of 58. Marilyn Scheidt received the
award for lowest number of putts with 26
total! A huge round of applause goes to
Sylvia Quillin, our wonderful tournament
director, who has done a phenomenal job
with all the tournaments.
A special tribute goes to members of our
own WGA-9 group who were instrumental
Susan Dimaline, Jan Dobbs and Elaine
Carpenter served as co-chairs, and their
committee chairs were Janice Brown,
Kathy Cochran, Colleen Olsen, Paula
Sparks and Kempa Rider.
GHIN and WGA-9 dues in December.
New members are always welcome. Those
interested in “trying us out” can play with
us one time without being a member.
