Use the Tennis Game Finder. Locate other
like-minded (similar skills, schedules, etc.) There are many classes offered in
tennis players. Sign up cards are on the
bulletin board.
Join the Sun City Texas Tennis Asso-
ciation (SCTTA) and participate in our
leagues (we offer Women’s, Men’s and
Mixed doubles leagues), tournaments (we
sponsor two weekend tournaments each
year), tennis socials and various other
activities.

in person to the Member Services Office
located in the Community Association

Visual Arts

Residents of Sun City interested in
exploring their potential talent or sharing
their known talent in the realm of visual
arts are encouraged to join this rapidly
growing organization. The studio offers
classes and opportunities for members
to paint together on open studio days
and within the Special Interest Groups
(SIGs). The SIGs include Oriental Brush,
Oil/Acrylics, Collage, and Alcohol Inks,
and meet from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the first
through fourth Saturdays in the above
order. Additionally, the Professional
Artist SIG meets at 6 p.m. on the second
Wednesday.
To view our most recent artworks, visit the
exhibit of our 11th Annual Competition,
now on display in the hallways and
Atrium of the Activities Center. Other
Sun City venues at which to view our art
are the Cowan Creek Amenity Center,

the Social Center, Legacy Grille, and the
Visual Arts Studio.
At the general meeting, a demo will
be given by Donna Bland, who has
previously taught classes here and will be
offering a landscape workshop in October.
Donna understands that it is a blessing to
be an artist and she is eternally thankful.
October, including several watercolor
classes, various levels of drawing classes,
beginning oils, pastels, and landscapes
in oils. The VAC website lists these
classes on its calendar, and registration
for classes is to be done by purchasing
a ticket on the Sun City Texas website
or at the CA office. This new means of
registration has been well received by the
membership.

The WGA 9-Holers tee off on Tuesdays,
alternating weekly play among all three
Sun City golf courses. In addition, golfers
are encouraged to attend our monthly
general meetings which are held on the
second Tuesday of each month.

WHO welcomes all residents. We are a
cohesive group with a passion for caring,
sharing and serving the extended com-
munity. Our mission is to support exist-
ing charitable organizations with time,
donations and assistance while fostering
camaraderie, fellowship and inclusion.
And yes, men are welcome, too. We meet
the fourth Monday of the month. The
agenda includes a salad luncheon and a
presentation from a nonprofit or public ser-
vice organization, followed by our business
meeting. The members bring the salads
and make an optional $10 donation at each
meeting. Annual dues are $10 and may
be paid online or at the monthly meet-
ing. Guests and prospective members are
welcome to join us. Just let us know you
are coming so that we may welcome you.
Our speaker for October is Kendra Cofer,
Executive Director of Celebration of Love/
Soldiers of America. This organization
provides support for our U.S. veterans,
soldiers and their families through their
“Solders of America” program. Celebration
of Love works year round to help those in
need and those who keep our country safe.
