Visual Arts Club Fall Competition Show
and Reception

The Visual Arts Club presents its 11th Annual
Fall Competition Show and Reception on
Sunday, Sept. 25 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the
Activities Center, 1 Texas Drive. You’re invited
to see Sun City’s finest artwork at our annual
show and reception which is free and open to the public. The
exhibit showcases original, affordable artwork in a variety of
mediums including oil, acrylic, watercolor, Chinese brush, pastels
and more. Artwork will remain on display and offered for sale
through Friday, Nov. 11. Come and enjoy light refreshments
and art demonstrations by members while you meet the artists
and view the show.

directed and written by Andrew Haigh. The
film is based on the short story In Another
Country by David Constantine. A married
childless couple preparing to celebrate their
wedding anniversary receives shattering news that promises
to forever change the course of their lives. Price includes one
beverage per ticket and one cup of popcorn.

and is open to everyone in the community.

Garage Sale
Saturday, Oct. 1, SCPL, 8 a.m. to noon
$45 per booth space (includes table)
Select your garage sale space at the Member
Services Office or online. Twice a year the Sun
City Texas CA and the Sun City Kiwanis host
a public garage sale for you to sell your goods
and/or shop for new treasures. This is a great
event for shopping, buying and selling household items.
All garage sale spaces are the size of a parking spot. Each
space is $45, includes a table, and will be available for setup on
Friday, Sept. 30, from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.
– No setup or vehicle traffic in sales spaces on Saturday
morning.
– Booths include one table. You may bring additional tables
if desired as long as they fit in your space.
– Security officers will be onsite to patrol the sales area from
4 p.m. Friday to 8 a.m. Saturday; however, the safety and
security of your sale items cannot be guaranteed.
– It is advisable to cover all items in the event of inclement
weather.
– Only one scheduled rain date: Saturday, Oct. 8.
– To schedule a Kiwanis pickup of items you wish to donate
to the sale, please call Dick Lesh, 512-864-2499 and leave a
message. Your call will be returned to schedule your pickup.
– Pickups for Kiwanis donations are on Fridays, starting
August 5; final pickup on Friday, Sept. 23.
NO EARLY SALES! Garage Sale set-up time is on Friday,
Sept. 30 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Garage Sale is open for
shoppers on Saturday, Oct. 1 from 8 a.m. to noon. We will
not allow any set up on Saturday morning and no items
will be sold prior to 8 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1. These rules
were designed with safety in mind for all participants and
the rules will be enforced.
Cajun Club Dance and Party - NEW!
Sunday, October 2, 7 p.m., SCB, $12 pp
Join the Sun City Cajun Club as they host
Kenny Scarborough and his country western
band from Beaumont, Texas. Along with
Kenny, Sun City’s very own Rowdy will
perform an array of Patsy Cline songs. Tickets
are available at the Member Services Office or online through
