MEMORIAL DAY CEREMONY
Cloudy skies and area rains forced the Memorial
Day ceremony to move indoors to the Social Center
Ballroom. Attendees honored those members of
our armed forces who have given their lives in ser-
vice to our country. Many residents met with guest
speaker Governor Greg Abbott after the ceremony.

Taps is played to end the ceremony. Corporal Alan Babin was working as a U.S. Army combat medic in
Iraq when he was wounded in March 2003. With the help and en-
couragement of family and friends, he has overcome many obstacles.
