I am relatively new to central Texas, but the Photography Club’s Àeld trips have given me a chance to see it up close with lots of
photo opportunities. It’s hard to choose a favorite day, but there are certain destinations I keep thinking back on. When we were
in Fredericksburg, the Wildseed Farm and Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park fed my passion for Áowers and insect photos.
The Àeld trip to Dick’s Classic Garage and Cabela’s got me out of my comfort zone and away from my usual subjects. At the
auto shop, I spent the day taking photos of antique cars – a real challenge to my skills as a photographer given the poor lighting.
While at Cabela’s I was able to photograph stuffed animals displayed in settings similar to what you would Ànd in the wild.
