Get to Know the Candidates APRIL 2016 SUNRAYS | 9

The candidate application filing period for
CA Board positions closed March 31. Are you
wondering who the applicants are?

The Elections Committee is sponsoring three
events to provide residents with an opportu-
nity to meet the candidates:
• Introduction of Qualified Candidates
Friday, April 1, 10 a.m., SCB

• Candidate Forum
Monday, April 18, 9 a.m., SCB

• Meet and Mingle with the Candidates
Monday, May 2, 9 a.m., Cowan Creek Florence Room

Candidates will make a short presentation on their views
regarding current issues in Sun City. Then you will have time
to ask questions and visit face-to-face over a cup of coffee.

Add these events to your calendar now and plan to attend
all three.

Community-wide Shred Day –
Two Locations

Friday, April 15, 8 a.m. until the trucks are full
Social Center Parking Lot and Cowan Creek Amenity
Center Parking Lot

If your taxes are done and you’re ready get rid of the clutter,
bring those old bills, personal documents and bank statements
to the community-wide Shred Day on Friday, April 15! Due to
the increase in participation last year, we have added a third
shred truck. One truck will be staged at the Social Center and
two trucks will be staged at the Cowan Creek Amenity Center.
Watch your CA Communicator for further directions and entry
points. This is a FREE service for residents of Sun City Texas
only and funded by your Sun Rays advertisers!

IMPORTANT:

• Each household may bring up to five (5) bags or file boxes.

• For the safety of all involved we ask that you remain in
your vehicle at all times and a volunteer will unload your
bags or boxes.

• We will not accept walk-ups for shred day, all participants must
drive their vehicle or golf cart through the designated line.

What you CAN shred: Paper, personal documents, bank
statements, old bills, etc. (You do not have to remove staples,
paper clips or binder clips)

What you CANNOT shred: No CDs or other media, x-rays,
cardboard, plastic or phone books (commercial or residential)
*Remember, keep your current Sun City Texas Directory and
return it to the CA in June so that we can securely dispose
of it, protecting your personal contact information.
