Elaine’s clinics have re-started
after the winter break. They are
held the first Wednesday of each
month and lessons concentrate on
one particular aspect of the game
each week. Space is limited to 10
gals.
With part of our motto being “have
fun and maintain pace of play,” a
Ladies Day Out is being considered.
Additionally, consideration is being
given to playing only the red tees
at Legacy Hills, which has created
a regulation par 72 for 18 holes. A
low gross/low net outing is being
added to the list of possible games
for our play days plus door prizes
are also being distributed at the
general meetings.
Adding to the element of enjoyment
at our gatherings is our new social
committee of Donna Hixon, Janet
Buss, Coleen Olsen, Kathleen
Sheppard, Susan Dimaline, Nan
Bowles and Paula Sparks.
No-shows will be tracked this year.
Everyone is being asked to please
call the appropriate pro shop
immediately if you cannot make
it the morning of play and notify
the tournament director.
Every member is strongly en-
couraged to post a picture on our
website. It is very easy to upload
a photo; the directions are on the

one recognize those members they
may not know. Also, remember to
pay your dues if you have not yet
done so.

The weather was finally co-operative
in January, and the CGA play date
was completed. The temperatures were
certainly not what golfers had hoped for,
but a number of our members braved the
polar bear temperatures nonetheless and
enjoyed a chance to warm up at the first
social of 2016.

The Eclectic tournament is scheduled
for April 11-12 at the Legacy Hills golf
course. Both days will begin with an 8
a.m. shotgun start and will be followed
by the tournament social on April 12
in the American/Texas rooms from
1-3 p.m. You can sign up online for the
tournament beginning March 16 and
continuing through April 5. Please use

and details for entry.
We appreciate the hard work of
our tournament chairpersons, Pat
Blankenship and Mary Van Audenhove
and our social chairpersons, Marilyn
Hamner and Julie Dreyer. These ladies
will be working hard through the year
to make our tournaments fun and
challenging. Our second tournament
of the season will be the President’s
Cup held May 16-17. More details

As a reminder, new tee markers, which
are red in color, have been placed on
Legacy Hills. The relocation is to offer
a yardage more in line with typical
forward set tees. Hopefully this will
improve some of our golf games.
The first quarter CGA board meeting
was held Jan. 6 at Cowan Creek in the
Andice Room. The board’s minutes are
available on the website.
March will bring nice temperatures to
Sun City. Mark your calendar and sign
up online for the next play date, which
is Saturday, March 19, with a 1 p.m.

We hope to see new and old members on
the course in March to enjoy fresh air,
sunshine and a great time.
