Member Appreciation Luncheon
No Garden Club meeting this month.
Instead we are holding a members only
luncheon on the patio at Putters Café
in Sun City. It’s Oktoberfest and we are
celebrating with a German buffet. Tickets
are $10 and can be purchased online
through the CA ticketing system or at
the Member Services Office in the Texas
Drive Social Center. The patio opens at
1:15 p.m. and the buffet starts at 1:30 p.m.

October Field Trip
On the morning of Wednesday, Oct. 21
garden club members will carpool to The
Natural Gardener – a premier nursery
located in the Oak Hill area of southwest
Austin. There will be a presentation on
butterfly gardens, free time to browse
and shop, and lunch in the Bee Cave area
before returning to Sun City in the early
afternoon. More information including

Hiking

The Hiking Club has nearly 90 hikes
planned in 2015 as well as four fun social
events. We hike near the San Gabriel River
Trail and the Lake Georgetown Goodwater
Loop, and farther away at places like
Colorado Bend State Park and Enchanted
Rock State Natural Area. Our hikes can
be relatively easy - about 4 miles on level
trails, or challenging - like 12 miles on
rocky and hilly terrain, and everything in
between. Our schedule in October includes
a dozen scheduled hikes to choose from
plus our Fall Fiesta for our members. You
can learn all about our hikes by accessing
the calendar on the Hiking website. Be
sure to login as a resident before going to
the club website. Everyone is welcome to
