N50 Salutes its
veterans

On Saturday, May 16, Armed Forces
Day, about 110 residents of Neighbor-
hood 50 honored veterans with a pre-
sentation of the neighborhood’s new
Service Memorial at the entrance of
Pedernales and Salado Creek.
The new memorial consisted of the
American flag and a new flag pole
plus the five service flags and the MIA/
POW flag. The Liberty Battalion of the
NJROTC of East View High School of
Georgetown participated in the flag
ceremony.
More than 25 decorated golf carts from
the N50 Golf Cart Club escorted the
flags to the site. Veterans from all ser-
vices presented the colors and hung
the flags from the Highland Terrace
neighborhood sign.
After the ceremony, the N50 Socials
group provided refreshments for neigh-
bors who attended the celebration.
