Festival. Jennifer made her New York recital debut in 2004 as
part of the European Concert Hall Organization’s Rising Stars
series. Born in Pasadena, CA, Ms. Frautschi began playing the
violin at age 3, studying under Robert Lipsett at the Colburn
School for the Performing Arts in Los Angeles. She subsequently
attendedHarvard, theNewEngland Conservatory of Music, and
Juilliard. She performs on a 1722 Antonio Stradivarius violin
known as the “ex-Cadiz,” on generous loan to her from a private
American foundation.
The selections tonight are Beethoven’s Leonore Overture No. 1,
Op. 138 from his Fidelio Opera; the Bartok Violin Concerto No.
2;
and the Schubert Symphony No. 5 in B-flat, D. 485.
Dinner before the performance is at Outback Steakhouse in
RoundRock. Entrée choices are filet withMarsalawildmushroom
sauce; wood grilled shrimp and scallops; Alice Springs chicken
breast toppedwith bacon, two cheeses and honeymustard sauce;
or a full rack of Aussie Bar-B-Q baby-back ribs. All dinners
include a salad, a side and drink.
Ticket price includes transportation, pre-concert talk and per-
formance at the Long Center, and dinner.

Two for the price of one! Our journey
begins in Round Top at the Winedale Histori-
cal Complex where we will view twenty Amish
and Mennonite historical quilts. Then we will
cross the road and tour two of the 19th century
homes restored byMiss Ima Hogg on 225 acres of land that was
once part of Stephen F. Austin’s Colony.
Our next stop will be lunch at JW’s Steakhouse where we will
indulge in mouth-watering chicken fried steak served with real
mashed potatoes and green beans and a slice of homemade bread.
Coffee and a chocolate cookie for dessert.
Then it is on to LaGrange for the 15th Annual Best Little Quilt
Show in Texas. The Colorado Valley Quilt Guild displays 150 of
their best. On the way, we will stop at Buc-ee’s in Giddings for
a snack and coffee. Round Top is a charming community where
you can visit the sites and be a part of the small town scene.
Note: There will be a lot of walking, some over uneven
surfaces, and standing as we view the quilts and tour
homes. Please wear comfortable shoes; bring your cam-
era and water.

at the beautiful Majestic Theatre in
San Antonio. Built in 1929, the theatre was
listed on the National Register of Historical
Places in 1975 and designated a National His-
toric Landmark in 1993.
Memphis
wonBestMusical Tony Award
in 2010. It is set in the places where rock and roll was born in
the 1950s: the seedy nightclubs, radio stations and recording
studios of the musically-rich Tennessee city. With an original
score, it tells the fictional story of DJ Huey Calhoun, a good ole’
local boy with a passion for R&B music and Felicia Farrell, an
up-and-coming black singer that he meets one fateful night on
Beale Street. Despite the objections of their loved ones (Huey’s
close-mindedmama and Felicia’s cautious brother, a club owner),
they embark on a dangerous affair. As their careers rise, the re-
lationship is challenged by personal ambition and the pressures
of an outside world unable to accept their love.
Upon arrival in San Antonio, youwill have two hours of ‘on your
own’ time to have dinner and/or walk around the San Antonio
River Walk before meeting at the theatre for a 6:30 p.m. show
time. Ticket cost includes transportation and show ticket.

overlooks the natural beauty of Lady Bird
Lake. Our dinner includes salad, dessert, as-
paragus, mashed potatoes and a flank steak with coffee or tea.
After dinner, we will head to the Long Center for Celtic Nights.
Celtic Nights expertly weaves together the lilting melodies and
plaintive lyrics of the rich Celtic heritage to tell the story of a
people. In this stirring tale of the Celtic experience, the audience
is invited to travel along on a journey of hope, transported in time
through traditional ballads, vivid choreography and the story
of a people struggling to find their place in a changing world.
Celtic Nights is a unique show which features both the finest
male and female voices of the Celtic world, showcased against
a thundering backdrop of expert dancing and musicianship. In
this glittering production, six of Ireland’s most prominent vocal
talents are complimented by six of its most accomplished step
dancers, creating an exhilarating picture of a proud people who
dared to dream big and doggedly carved out a home in the New
World. Ticket cost includes transportation, dinner and show.
