house experience begins with our hostess dressed in cowboy
hat and boots, picnic tables (with bench seating), cattle brands
painted on the wall, and the signature bright red building! Your
menu choices for dinner include an 8 oz. Ribeye or 7 oz. Grilled
Chicken. Each entree is servedwith a garden salad, baked potato,
dinner roll, and a non-alcoholic beverage. Dessert will be Blue
Bell vanilla ice cream. Yummy!
After dinner we continue to the AT&T Center, home of the San
Antonio Spurs, in time for “tip-off”.
NOTE: The arena has sports style, stadium seating and
there will be steps to maneuver.
Ticket cost includes transportation, dinner and game ticket.

India Meets Texas - The Clay Pit Restaurant

By combining centuries old
recipes, a traditional clay tandoor oven, the
freshest ingredients and an innovative vision,
The Clay Pit provides a taste of contemporary
Indian cuisine. The buffet lunch offers intrigu-
ing aromas and exotic Indian flavors. It includes two soups and
four salads – pasta, tossed green, strawberry and spinach, or fruit
saladwithwarmbaskets of Naan bread or Samosa, a golden-fried
pastry stuffed with chicken or vegetables. Main dishes include
lamb, chicken and seafood, all cookedwith fresh ground spices and
sauces to tease your palate, plus an assortment of vegetable and
rice dishes. Dessert is Kheer, traditional rice pudding enhanced
with nuts, raisins, cinnamon and a dash of cardamon. Youmight
also try the Glulab Jamun, deep-fried milk pastry served in
rose-water honey syrup and sprinkled with pistachios. Assorted
herbal teas, orange or mango mimosa, or sodas are included.
After lunch, we will add a bit of Texas history to our trip. The
Historical BertramBuildingwhere we are dining has some tales
to tell, as does the Neil-Cochran House Museum, our final tour
destination. Built in 1855 byAbner Cook, builder of theGovernors’
Mansion, the Neil-Cochran house is Greek Revival style with
urban sophistication. Our docent will lead us through this man-
sion and give us a glimpse into its past history and future plans.
A unique dining and history experience awaits us. No passports
required. Just the love of good food and an adventurous spirit!
