Meet the Artist 2013 - NEW!

The Visual Arts Club will present its annual
“
Meet The Artist” show and reception on Sun-
day, February 24 from 3-5 p.m. in the Activi-
ties Center. The show is free and open to the
public. This exhibition showcases beautiful
and original pieces of artwork in a variety of mediums includ-
ing oil, acrylic, watercolor and collage. Chinese brush paint-
ing will be shown along with pastels and charcoal drawings.
Artwork will be for sale and may be purchased during the
opening reception. The show features live demonstrations by
club members. Enjoy light refreshments while you view the
art and “meet” the artists.

th Century Follies” - NEW!
February 25 through March 2, 7 p.m., SCB, $14 pp
A musical tribute to the 10 decades of the
20
th Century. Relive this amazing century by
traveling through the decades from the 1900s
to 1999 with the talented Sun City perform-
ers. Remember Vaudeville? How about black
and white TV? Sitting by the radio to learn the news? This
show is dedicated to those wonderful years. The actors and
singers will take you with them as they perform songs such
as “Sentimental Journey,” “Bye Bye Blackbird,” and all those
great old patriotic army songs. More current songs include
“
I’ve Got You Babe,” “To All the Girls I’ve Loved Before,”
and “This Is My Country.” Enjoy classic dance routines from
Sun City dance groups like the “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy,”
“
Dancing Queen,” and “Rock Around The Clock.” Sun City
is known for its outstanding talent and it will be an action-
packed night guaranteed to please with laughter, skits and
music, and to renew old memories of times gone by. The show
kicks off for six fun-filled nights starting Monday, February
25
and running through Saturday, March 2. Tickets are $14
and are available online, at the Member Services Office, or
at the door each night, if available. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
and the show starts promptly at 7 p.m.

The nationally touring production of “NOS-
TALGIA” takes you down memory lane with
your ’57 Chevy as we remember the times
and people who changed our lives. You’ll be
taken back to that fateful day at Pearl Harbor
and travel through the ’40s, ’50s, and ’60s until the first steps
are taken on the lunar surface. Nationally touring stand-
up comedian Randy Riggle will be your tour guide on a trip
filled with songs and laughs in this 90 minute one-man show.
Randy entertains his audiences with stories, gun slinging,
dancing, and pantomime. His observational humor about the
era is complimented with over 50 impersonations and a special
tribute to veterans. The entire revue is backed with a multi-
media slide presentation. Join us for an evening of nostalgic
memories of a by-gone era.
Neighborhood 52 Share the Love - NEW!
Friday, March 22, 7-10 p.m., LHPP, $10 pp
Neighborhood 52 invites you to attend Share the Love, a fun-
draiser to benefit Silver Bells (elderly security and safety),
The Locker (GISD students in need) and the Breast Cancer
Resource Center. Music provided by Whitestone. Whitestone
plays music from the ’60s, ’70s and ’80s, to today’s pop and
country. They have performed at the Oasis, Hardtails, Berry
Creek Country Club and Junior’s. There will be a silent auc-
tion, 50/50 raffle and snacks. Tickets will cost $10 per person

Garage Sale - NEW!

It’s time to clean out the closet, garage, junk
drawer and backyard! Purchase your garage
sale spot at Membership Services Desk.
Twice a year the Sun City Texas hosts a pub-
lic garage sale for Sun Citians. Are you new
and need to get some of your ‘old house’ out of your ‘new home?’
Are you looking to raise money for your neighborhood? The
Garage Sale is a great event for shopping, buying and selling
household items.
All booths are $45 and include a table and will be available
for setup Friday, April 5, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. No setup Saturday
morning – no vehicle traffic in these spaces Saturday morning.
Booths will include a table.
Security officers will be onsite to patrol the sale area from 6
p.m. Friday to 8 a.m. Saturday, however cannot guarantee the
safety and security of your sale items. It is advisable to cover
all items due to weather hazard.
All Garage Sale spaces are the size of a parking spot. Once
you purchase your space you will be issued a number which
corresponds with a parking space number in the social center
parking lot. Spaces are purchased at the Membership Services
Desk (where all tickets are sold).
