Holiday Hours

On Friday, July 3, all CA facilities will be open except for CA business offices.

On Saturday, July 4, all CA facilities will be closed except Golf (courses and hours subject to change) and the outdoor pools at the Fitness Centers, which you can access through the exterior side gates. Reservations are required at the pools.
Clarification on Parades and Neighborhood Parties

CA sponsored Golf Cart parades and CA sponsored neighborhood parties are currently not allowed. The best way to protect yourself and to help reduce the spread of the virus that causes COVID-19 is to limit your interactions with other people as much as possible. We cannot stop individuals from doing what they want, but if they are doing it as a sanctioned CA neighborhood event (organized as an official CA sponsored neighborhood event and using CA communication channels), we are saying please do not do these activities.

Cottage Roof Replacement
and Repair Issues
Submitted by Carl Zimmerman
Community Standards Director, 512-948-7461 [email protected]

A large number of cottage homes experienced roof damage as a result of the recent hail storm. Unlike all other homes in the community, cottage homes have unique requirements. Article 14.19 requires both units to be re-roofed in its entirety, at the same time, and by the same contractor using equal or better-quality asphalt shingles. A pre-approved shingle color must be used. There are no exceptions to these requirements.

If the roof requires only minor repairs, the exact style and quality shingles on the undamaged sections of the roof must be used to make the repair. There is one possible exception to the general policy: Upon approval by the Modifications Committee, if only one side of the adjoining roof requires replacement while the other adjoining roof does not, the damaged roof may be replaced providing the roofing material is exactly the same style, quality, color as the existing roof and is feathered seamlessly into the adjoining roof so no delineation between the two roofs is apparent.

Community Sign Rules
Submitted by Carl Zimmerman
Community Standards Director, 512-948-7461

This article provides a quick review of the community’s rules for signs.
Political Signs: The Political Sign policy allows residents to display political signs related to an upcoming election from 90-days prior to the election until 10-days after the election. Political signs must be in support of a specific candidate or ballot initiative. Residents will be asked to remove signs that don’t meet this standard. Signs related to the Tuesday, November 3 general election may be displayed starting Monday, August 3. These signs must be removed no later than Saturday, November 14. Residents are limited to no more than one sign for each candidate for an office or for each measure on the ballot. A recent change to the community’s policy allows that if there is a difference of opinion between members of the household on which candidates are supported additional signs may be displayed. Each household member’s choice of candidates must be displayed in separate places on the lot.
Contractor Signs:  Contractor signs may only be displayed when the contractor is on site and actively working.
All Other Signs:  Paragraph 2.2 of Exhibit C to the community’s Declaration of Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions lists the following pre-approved signs: "For Sale", "For Rent" and "For Lease" signs (one per home); “No Soliciting” sign (one per home); “Security Alarm” signs (one per home); "Open House" signs (one per home); “Patriotic Signs” (one per home, for window display only); “Political Signage (Rules outlined in the Political Signs Policy); Community Association elections and votes (Rules outlined in the Political Signs Policy); Directional signs to private events (May be displayed one day prior to the event and removed after the event) and Developer signs.

For the full text and detailed requirements please review the Governing Documents mentioned above. Please contact Carl Zimmerman at 512-948-7461 with your questions.

 Watch Out
for Rattlesnakes

Texas is home to rattlesnakes. Check out this picture to see how well they blend into the landscape.

Be cautious when working in the garden or taking an evening walk - they love the cool night air. Recently residents have reported seeing our reptilian neighbors on the trails, so keep a watchful eye for yourself and your pets.
