The Foreigner is a fun two-act comedy by American playwright Larry Shue. The story takes place in a fishing lodge in rural Tilghman County, Georgia, where two Englishmen, Froggy and Charlie, arrive as guests. The shy Charlie agrees to accompany Froggy on the trip after his sick wife begs him to go. When people at the lodge try to talk to Charlie, however, he remains silent: he is terribly shy, depressed about his wife’s illness, and cannot find the words to reply. Froggy claims that Charlie cannot talk because he is a “foreigner” from an exotic country, and does not understand English. Taking the explanation that he’s a non-English speaker as fact, the lodge’s guests quickly begin revealing their secrets, and Charlie soon discovers scandals among some of the residents of the lodge.

Friendly Reminder:
Deer Trapping Site Traffic
Deer trapping begins this month. I respectfully request that all residents be mindful of this annual process and stay away from the trap sites which will help trap the deer quickly, but also respects those who live near these trap sites by minimizing the traffic by their homes. Our goal is to complete this process in six or seven nights.
Remember, this trapping process is State regulated and tampering with the nets, deer, workers, etc. is against the law. Please help us to wrap this up quickly and efficiently. Many thanks, Jim

Recycling Christmas!
Trees, Boxes, Wrapping Paper & Lights
City of Georgetown residents are encouraged to recycle Christmas trees, boxes, and wrapping paper to reduce material going to the landfill. If you recycle your tree, please remove the tree stand and any garland, ornaments or lights. Artificial trees cannot be recycled.
Curbside pick-up: Texas Disposal Systems customers in the city limits of Georgetown can put Christmas trees on the curb for collection on your regular yard trimmings pickup day. Trees seven feet in length or less can be placed at the curb uncut. Longer trees should be cut into sections. Artificial trees are not accepted.
Collection day look-up: For City of Georgetown residents, your yard trimmings collection day is on your first recycling day of the month. Georgetown solid waste and recycling customers can check their collection days, sign-up for text or email reminders, and find out how to sort your solid waste and recycling on Texas Disposal Systems' Waste Wizard at texasdisposal.com/waste-wizard.
Boxes and wrapping paper: Cardboard boxes and wrapping paper are recyclable. If they won’t fit in your recycling cart, you can put wrapping paper and boxes in a larger box and set it next to your recycling cart. Ribbons and bows are not recyclable.
Cellophane wrap and plastic bags are recyclable if they are placed in a yellow bag-the-bag, tied, and placed inside the recycling cart. Bag-the-bag recycling bags are available for pick up at the Georgetown Municipal Complex, 300-1 Industrial Ave., Georgetown Public Library, 402 W. Eighth St., Georgetown Recreation Center, 1003 N. Austin Ave., and the Sun City Social Center monitors desk, 2 Texas Drive, and the Transfer Station, 250 W.L. Walden Road. New 2020 Driver's License Requirements
Boarding a Plane? Entering a Federal Building?
You will need a gold star on your driver’s license starting Oct. 1, 2020.
|
|
Beginning October 1, 2020, only state-issued driver licenses and identification cards that are fully compliant with the REAL ID Act will be accepted for official federal government purposes, such as entering secure federal buildings or boarding domestic flights. Texas began issuing REAL ID compliant cards on October 10, 2016 and these cards are marked with a gold circle with an inset star located in the upper right-hand corner, as seen in the example above.
If you replaced or renewed your card after October 10, 2016 and have a gold star in the right-hand corner, your card is already REAL ID compliant and no further action is required. Driver's licenses without the gold star are still acceptable ID for driving and do not need to be replaced, so long as you don't need it for air travel or entry to a Federal building.
