Have an Wonderful Thanksgiving!
Williamson County Moves to Phase RED
Submitted by Jim Romine, Executive Director

Due to the increase in COVID-19 infections in our area, Williamson County has moved into Phase RED.
“The increasing transmission rate and movement into the Williamson Counties and Cities Health District (WCCHD) red phase is a great opportunity to remind people during this Thanksgiving season to wear a mask, wash hands frequently, and keep six feet of distance from others not in your household. While the number of cases has increased, other indicators, such as the hospitalization rate for our region, are well below the Governor’s threshold for adopting more stringent guidelines under Governor Abbott’s Executive Order GA-32," said County Judge Bill Gravell.

Due to the announcement, Sun City Texas Community Association is making the following changes:

  • Library will be open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to noon.
  • Committee Meetings will no longer be in person - all must be virtual meetings. Reach out to Staff Liaisons for meeting information.
  • Effective Immediately for all CA Movies - Your mask is only allowed to be removed while drinking your beverage that you bring to the movie. Snacks are no longer permitted at CA sponsored movies.

The CA urges all of our residents to be safe, stay at home when you can and to properly wear your mask in a way that covers your nose and mouth when out and about. We want everyone to have a safe Holiday Season and now is the time to buckle down and do what we can as a community to keep ourselves and our friends and family safe.
NRO New Neighbor Round Up - Webinar

  • Virtual New Neighbor Round Up
  • Friday, December 4th
  • 9 - 10 a.m.
  • Online via "Go-to-Webinar" Link

Welcome New Sun City Texas Residents,

You are invited to join other new residents for the Virtual New Neighbor Round Up.
The Round Up is a Sun City Texas Lifestyle orientation presented by the Neighborhood Representative Organization (NRO). It consists of short presentations on Governance, Community, Activities and Volunteerism.

During normal times you would be invited to join us in the Social Center Ballroom and you would be seated with other new residents from your neighborhood or a neighborhood close by. Unfortunately we cannot do that during the shut down. So, we have created the next best thing, a virtual meeting.

The NRO believes this is a very important meeting to attend. Please take a few minutes right now and register. The date, time and a login link are included in the registration confirmation. Only one person in a household needs to register for this meeting.

We look forward to seeing you online,
The New Neighbor Development Team

The Importance of Vetting Your Home Service Providers
By Connie N. Heyer, Niemann & Heyer LLP, SCTCA legal counsel
Your community association, as is typical of community associations, does not maintain a preferred-vendor list or vet any vendor (including vendors who advertise in the Sun Rays magazine.) You can help yourself and your neighbors by doing your part to vet your home’s service providers
Request for Submission: Holiday Decorations
Believe it or not, the holiday season is upon us! Have you decked your halls? Are your silver lanes aglow? Show us your seasonal spirit by sending a snapshot of your holiday décor to [email protected] along with a brief description. We’ll be sharing a few of our favorites in the Sun Rays and on our Facebook page. Happy decorating!
Friendly Reminder:
Holiday Decorations - ok
Outdoor Sound Systems - no
Submitted by Carl Zimmerman
Community Standards Director

Residents are reminded that outdoor sound systems that are part of a display of holiday decorations are considered to be a nuisance under Paragraph 5 of Exhibit C to the community’s Declaration of Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions which prohibits any activity that is detrimental to any other property. Outdoor sound systems adversely impact the peaceful use and enjoyment of neighboring properties. Please contact Carl Zimmerman at 512-948-7461 with your questions.
Coyotes spotted on
Meadow Trail

A resident reported seeing two coyotes on Meadow Trail this week. While we are very fortunate to have such wonderful natural areas for our nature trails, we know we must share these areas with the existing wildlife and be aware that we may encounter them when out on the trails.
Native Area Maintenance Update

All mowing for the Level 3 Fall maintenance schedule has been completed, with the exception of the recently turned over neighborhoods 84, 85, 87.
