Library Reno Begins:
Limited books available

imgDue to a recent change in scheduling, renovation work on the library will begin on July 23. The last day the library will be open is Monday, July 17. We will close on July 18 to move books and equipment, and will remain closed until the renovation is finished in about six weeks.

Temporary Library

Volunteers will be moving a limited number of books to a temporary library in the Social Center lobby during the renovation. There will be fiction, non-fiction, large print, audio books and videos available.

The WOW!mobile, Georgetown Library's bookmobile, will continue to visit the Social Center and Cowan Creek parking lots at 9-10:30 a.m. & 11-11:45 a.m. most Tuesdays. Please Click Here to check the schedule.

Book Donations

We ask that you NOT donate books during this time. We will resume taking donations after we settle into our "new" library. If you must dispose of books, contact your favorite charity or organization.

Thank you for your support.

New Bus System Will Affect ADA Riders

The City will start a new fixed-route and paratransit bus system (GoGeo) in August. It will include changes to the service provided under the American’s with Disabilities Act. A draft of the ADA plan and ADA eligibility application to qualify to ride the new paratransit service is available online at gogeo.georgetown.org/accessibility.

If you are currently riding the curb-to-curb service, you will need to fill out an ADA Eligibility application to qualify to use the new service. If you do not qualify for paratransit service, contact the Office of Mobility Management at mytxride.com or call 512-369-6047 to get more information about transportation services in the area.

Click Here to read an article about the new bus system.
