NOVEMBER GARDENERS OF THE MONTH
FLETCHER AND NANCY WRIGHT
121 STOCKMAN TRAIL (N11)
After forty-two years in the Longview, Texas area, the Wrights chose
a beautiful wooded lot overlooking Berry Creek Trail on which to build
their dream home and yard.
They began with a professional landscape plan, but after taking the
master gardener course, they came up with their own ideas. Fletcher
built a waterfall using an original tree well as a base. They created many
interesting vignettes throughout the yard, using whimsical garden art
and a variety of plants: succulents, vines, plumeria, desert willow trees
and iron plants. What a great pleasure it is to sit on the Wright’s large
stone patio and enjoy all they have created over the last thirteen years!
A slideshow of this beautiful yard will be shown during the social time
(12:30 p.m.) at the November 13 Garden Club meeting. (CCF/G)

LET’S GO TO THE HOP
Approximately 250 sock hoppers attended the N10 Sock Hop on Sep-
tember 12 in the Ballroom. This was one exciting party, and attendees
can’t wait to do it again. Above: Joy Fox and Joseph Ciampa visit with

SUN CITY TEXAN IN AFGHANISTAN
Eric Redd sent this photo of his wife, Niceta, who is cur-
rently serving in Kandahar, Afghanistan. Niceta is with
the u.S. Department of State in the Foreign Service. On
September 11, there was a ceremony during which flags
were flown; she had an opportunity to fly not only the u.S.
Flag but also the Texas state flag.
