Join our Club

The purpose of the Hiking Club is to promote safe, healthy and enjoyable hiking and walking experiences among members through both day hikes and multi-day hikes. We also make every effort to foster a friendly and enjoyable social atmosphere during Club activities.

It is the personal responsibility of each hiker to know his or her physical capabilities and limitations and to participate accordingly. Hikes range from a nice walk to a challenging 10-mile hike over rocky and hilly terrain. Each hiker is expected to physically prepare and to hike in a manner that assures personal safety and the safety of the group. Hiking boots are required for most hikes. Should a hiker fail to have the equipment specified for a given hike, he or she can be refused participation in that hike at the Hike Leader’s discretion.

Applying for New or Renewal Membership

Community Association residents desiring new or renewal membership in the Hiking Club should use the on-line purchasing process on the SCTexas.org website.  (Login as a resident on the website and click on the orange “BUY TICKETS/MEMBERSHIPS” button on the right side of the homepage.)  Application for membership in the Hiking Club requires that the applicant agree to adhere to the safety policies outlined in the Hiker Responsibilities section of this website and accept the terms of the Liability Waiver.  Note that you must complete and submit a separate form for each individual membership.

Residents who do not have online access may go to the CA Member Services Office in the Social Center at 2 Texas Drive.  A CA staff member will assist them in submitting an on-line application and will process their dues payment by cash, check or credit/debit card.
