551 MS Excel Ranges, Tables, and Charts

Class Sessions:  Two 2-hr sessions

Course Description/Objectives:
Even a relatively small set of data in an Excel spreadsheet can be overwhelming and not very useful until it is properly organized and summarized. In this class we examine two features for organizing your data: ranges and structured tables, and you will get hands-on experience in building and using these tools to analyze data. By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Organize data by sorting, filtering, and subtotaling ranges of data
  • Convert ranges into structured tables and then use the versatile subtotal function to quickly analyze your data
  • Insert formulas within a table and reference data using table and column names
  • Create a data analysis table using logic functions
  • Create a data table
  • Create a wide variety of charts from data in ranges and structured tables
