MS Word Intermediate
Class Sessions: Two, 2-hour classes
Course Prerequisites:
• Experience in using Microsoft Word
• Familiarity with ribbons
• Basic skills to create a document (type, edit, save, open, print, etc.)
Course Description:
The class will be based on Word 2016 and higher versions. Office 365 includes Word 2019. MS Word Intermediate class helps you to go beyond basics of MS Word. You will be able to make Word read text using Speak command. You will learn to Insert pictures, objects, Bookmark, Hyperlink, screenshot, tables and columns, Word Art, Equations & Symbols, Watermarks, add background color and border to a page. The class will cover editing pictures, images, and objects. You can add words to your custom dictionary. Proofread a document by adding comments and track changes. We will learn to add Table of Contents, Footnote, insert caption to an image or object. Layout your document in sizes other than standard 8 ½ X 11 sheet.
Course Objectives:
• To add command buttons to Quick Access bar for easy access
• To use speak command to made Word read to you
• To create a document with columns, also known as newspaper columns, format them and apply column breaks
• To insert and edit a picture, image, 3D Models, Icons and other illustrations that will enhance your document
• To add a caption to your image
• To capture a screenshot
• To insert a text box and position it where you want in the document
• To wrap text around an image in your document
• To add Word Art and position text in various angles
• To add a footnote
• To add Hyperlinks and Bookmarks in your document
• To add words specific to your needs in a custom dictionary
• Add Watermarks, add color and border to a page
• To Proofread - displaying the edited comments when sharing a document
• To Compare two documents - view side by side and using compare tools
• To insert a Table of Contents to give your document a professional appearance
• To work with a Table
