Just Say NO to
Golf Carts & Grandkids!
With many grandchildren in our community during the summer, there is a temptation to allow them to drive a golf cart.
It is against the law and extremely dangerous for anyone under the age of 16 and/or anyone without a driver’s license to drive a golf cart.

Friendly Reminder:
Please "Scoop the Poop"
Submitted By Jim Romine, Executive Director
Dog owners must “Scoop the Poop!” any place Fido poops—in our community’s common areas, on your neighbor’s lawn or on the streets. It is the owner’s responsibility to properly dispose of it, so remember to bring a plastic bag on walks with your dog.
Dispose of Responsibly
There are dog waste stations with plastic bags and waste containers strategically placed throughout the community. Kindly dispose of the bag in one of these containers or another proper waste container. Please do not drop the bags in your neighbor’s trash bin and do not drop the bags into storm sewers since the sewers drain directly into our rivers and streams.

Georgetown Requires Face Masks in Public
All people age 10 and older in Georgetown are required to wear face coverings while in public, with some exceptions, according to updated orders issued on July 3, by Mayor Dale Ross. The orders reflect additional restrictions authorized by Gov. Greg Abbott on July 2. The governor’s orders also prohibit outdoor gatherings of more than 10 people at a time, without mayoral approval.

Volunteers Needed:
Join the Fight Against COVID-19
The Williamson County and Cities Health District is looking for dedicated volunteers to join their Medical Reserve Corps, or MRC, to help in the fight against COVID-19. Specifically, volunteers are needed to work as case investigators to contact people who have tested positive for COVID-19, collect data regarding the disease and enter it into an electronic data system. These volunteers work from the safety and comfort of their own homes. No formal medical training is required as volunteers will be trained for the job, but they must have basic computer skills and experience working with different types of software.

Garden Beds Available
The Horticulture Club has beds available to rent and this is a great time to start preparing for a Fall crop. There is a one time, lifetime infrastructure fee of $225. A garden bed is approximately 25 x 6. The bed rental fee is $30 and membership fee in the club of $15 annually. Water and some amendments and tools are free. We have a tilling crew available for a nominal fee and there are several gurus in the garden who willingly share their expertise.
When the all clear is sounded concerning the pandemic, we will go back to parties at the barn and Spring and Fall dinners at Cowan Pavilion.
We have many other ways to participate in the garden experience if one does not want a garden bed---native plant garden, pocket gardens, greenhouse, herb garden, orchard and more. We grow for the needy in the community from our Outreach beds and that is a great way to learn gardening in Williamson County. Join us by paying dues at www.sctexas.org and complete the new member procedure. Tours by appointment.
Call Carol Hopper, president, at 512-868-7413.
