During the days and weeks while Sun City facilities are closed, there will be no regular weekly Newsletters. But when we have information of value to Computer Club members, we will send special messages such as this one.

Update on Postponed Presentation

The Computer Club had organized two presentations with Georgetown Police, Fire, and Communications Departments, but both had to be postponed due to the CA’s facilities closures. Since some time will pass before we can organize new presentations, we thought we would share some of the information the speakers would have provided.

Georgetown police planned to discuss Smart911. Georgetown is actively promoting Smart911, a system for creating your profile that you would complete online. The information could include your health, medications, pets, location, and emergency contacts. Mobile phones are included in the profile. In Georgetown or anywhere else where Smart911 is active, that profile would display. Then should you ever dial 911, Smart911 would display to first responders all the information you had entered into the system.
