Sun City Burglaries
Submitted by the Georgetown Police Department

"As many of you are aware, the Georgetown Police Department was notified of a series of home burglaries that occurred in Sun City on March 6, 2020 between the hours of 8:00 PM and 10:00 PM. From what we know at this time, there were five (5) burglaries and all of them had similar details (entry methods, exit methods, burglary methods, items stolen). All of the homes suffered some manner of forced entry and no residents were home during the burglaries. It does appear at this time that travel between the residences was facilitated via the golf cart paths behind the residences. We believe this because all the residences back up to the golf cart path and the entry/exit points were at the rear of the residences.

We are deeply concerned by these burglaries as we know you are as well. We are actively investigating these burglaries at this time and have increased patrols within Sun City.

We ask all residents to remain vigilant as always. We ask you to immediately report anything you see or hear that seems unusual or out of the ordinary. Anyone that discovers information or private camera footage relevant to these burglaries is asked to contact the Georgetown Police tip line at (512) 930-2746 or email at [email protected].

We extend our gratitude to the Sun City community for partnering with us to help us when these incidents occur and for your continued partnerships to help us prevent these incidents from occurring."
