New Golfer Day and Golf 101

New Golf Day has been rescheduled for Friday, March 13. It will be held at White Wing from 2-3:30 p.m.
This is a kick off to the Golf 101 classes.

The Golf 101 class is designed for individuals and couples who are beginner golfers, golfers with limited golf experience or golfers who have experienced a significant layoff. This class offers golfers instruction on all aspects of the golf swing as well as rules and etiquette tips, and general information regarding playing and practicing in Sun City. This will give interested residents a taste of what they can expect from the Golf 101 class as they will get to experience a short game, putting and full swing instructional demonstration. This will be the first opportunity to get signed up for classes that will be offered beginning toward the end of March and/or the first part of April.

If you have any questions, or are interested in signing up for this New Golfer Day and/or Golf 101, please contact the White Wing Golf Shop or the golf professional staff.
USGA Report – Legacy Hills
Last fall, the USGA paid a visit to Legacy Hills to evaluate the golf course and offer recommendations on things that might help maintain and, in some cases, improve course conditions.
Divots and Ball Mark Repair

Properly repairing divots helps the turf recover as quickly as possible and helps to restore a smooth playing surface. An un-repaired divot can take months to heal, and it may never fully recover. Repairing divots maintains good playability for your fellow golfers and sets a positive example of caring for the course.
Proper Way to Practice on the Driving Range

To maximize the use of the grass on the driving range tee, please place your ball at the grassy back edge of your previous divot removing just a small portion of grass each swing.
White Wing Bridge on #2

Renovation on the bridge on #2 began Tuesday, March 10. During this renovation period, the front 9 at White Wing will be closed and only available for 9 holes on the back 9. Legacy Hills and Cowan Creek will be restricted to 18 hole play only in the morning during this project in an effort to accommodate 18 hole play. This project is anticipated to take approximately 10 days. Event play, including WGA, MGA and CGA events have been moved to Legacy Hills and Cowan Creek accordingly.

Thank you for your patience.
Multi-Vendor Demo Day
The Spring Demo Day will be held Thursday, March 19, at White Wing from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This will be an excellent opportunity to see and test some of the new equipment from a variety of vendors. Callaway, TaylorMade, Cleveland, Cobra, Tour Edge, Titleist and Wilson will all be in attendance.

We will have appointments every 30 minutes for those who wish to have guaranteed one-on-one time with one of the vendor representatives and/or one of the golf professionals. That said, everyone is encouraged to stop by and see all the new equipment.

Appointments can be made through the White Wing Golf Shop.

Golf Cart
Registration Stickers

We ask that every golf cart have an ID sticker. These stickers are free and you can get them at the Member Services Office or any
golf shop.

It’s a simple process. All that is needed is a sticker affixed at the bottom/middle of your windshield. This important item allows us to identify who you are in the event of an emergency.
Afternoon Punch
Card Holders

Please remember to specify that you have an Afternoon Punch Card when checking in for your round. This is especially important for those that bought an Afternoon Punch Card in addition to another level of punch card. This will help avoid incorrect charges.

Please remember, Afternoon Punch Cards are only good after 1 p.m.
Adopt-A-Hole Volunteers

Adopt-A-Hole is an all volunteer program open to all residents of Sun City Texas.

Adopt-A-Hole teams supplement the work of Golf Course Maintenance staff by periodically working "adopted" golf holes by sanding divots, repairing ball marks on greens, cleaning tees of broken tees, moving golf cart control ropes, reporting course condition items in need of attention, etc.

Adopt-A-Hole teams set their own schedules and there are no reporting requirements.

If you're interested in joining an existing Adopt-A-Hole team, please contact the Program Coordinator, Clay Stubbins, at [email protected].
