Coronavirus (COVID-19)
Submitted by the Emergency Management Committee

Sun City Texas is closely monitoring developments regarding the outbreak of the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) and is taking extended measures to ensure a hygienic environment, including regular cleaning of common areas and refilling of soap and hand sanitizers. Now is not the time to panic, but it is a time to be informed.

Most people who become infected experience mild illness and recover, but it can be more severe for others. There is currently no vaccine to prevent coronavirus disease (COVID-19). The best way to prevent illness is to avoid exposure to the virus and use recommended preventive actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases.

Political Sign Displays
Submitted by Carl Zimmerman,
Community Standards Director,

The community’s political sign policy allows residents to display political signs related to an upcoming election from 90-days prior to the election until 10 days after the election. Tuesday, March 3, was the Primary Election day in Texas, therefore any political signs must be removed no later than Friday, March 13.

Help Conserve Energy

You may have noticed new signs on the NON-automated doors at building entrances. In an effort to conserve energy and keep the interior environment comfortable, we are asking people WHO ARE ABLE to use the NON-automated doors whenever possible. Because the automatic door has a delay before it closes, cold or hot air is unnecessarily let inside. Thanks for your help!

What Plants Grow Here

Newly revised “What Plants Grow Here “ binders have been placed at the monitor's desk at Texas Drive, Cowan Creek and The Retreat. These binders contain valuable information for residents needing information on plants, trees, shrubs, vines, ground covers, grasses, cacti and succulents.

The binders are provided by the SUN CITY GARDEN CLUB and focus on plants that are native and adapted to Central Texas soil and its variable weather. Both pictures and descriptions of plants are included. The binders can be checked out at the monitor’s desk and used in the social centers. A big thanks goes to the CA for contributing the printing for the binders.
