Subject: Pickleball Issue - Mea Culpa

Special CA Communicator
Sun City Texas Community:

I am writing to all of you today to say I am sorry and sincerely apologize for the manner in which this Pickleball matter was handled. It was not the fault of our Developer Pulte/ Del Webb or the CA Board of Directors, only me. When I crafted the message below for the January Sun Rays I irresponsibly neglected to include that this location or any other proposed Pickleball court location on existing Sun City Texas owned property would ultimately need to have the support of the CA Board and that resident input would be encouraged prior to any vote. The Developer, Board and Staff never intended to sneak this past the community as that is not who we are. We all love this community as much as the next person and take our roles and responsibilities very seriously. I am sad that this matter has caused so much pain and disruption to the Community especially during the Holiday Season and I hope you will accept my apology.

Developer Building Eight New Pickleball Courts: As we all know Pickleball is one of America’s fastest growing sports and is very popular here in Sun City. As such our Developer Pulte/ Del Webb will be building and providing to the Community debt free eight new courts. These courts will be installed adjacent to the Legacy Hills Park Pavilion along Del Webb Blvd. between Hole #1 of Legacy Hills and the entrance to the Park Pavilion. We anticipate the courts being completed by the end of 2020.

Sincerely,

Jim Romine
Executive Director
