New Year’s Course Schedule
On New Year’s Day, Wednesday, Jan. 1, due to a lack of demand, White Wing will be the only course available and will be open for a 9 a.m. shotgun only. The golf shop will close at 12 p.m. Legacy Hills and Cowan Creek will be closed all day and will return to normal operations Thursday, Jan. 2.

Revenge Results

Sweeps
If you played in a WGA event, MGA event, or the Superintendent Revenge in December, and finished in the money, the sweeps winnings were held until 2020 and will be posted by Monday, Jan. 6.

World Handicap System (WHS)
As most golfers know, the USGA will be moving away from the current GHIN handicap system and moving to a new World Handicap System in 2020. There is too much information to summarize here, so Click Here to view more detailed information about some of the biggest changes golfers can expect to see beginning January 1.
WHS takes the place of GHIN. If you are in the GHIN system, you will automatically be transferred into this new WHS system. The $32 handicap fee will be charged as in previous years.
If you want to cancel this handicap service, you will need to stop by the Legacy Hills Golf Shop and complete a cancellation form. Verbal cancellations will NOT be accepted.
Update Your GHIN/WHS
For anyone new to Sun City that has a handicap at another club, we are able to transfer your GHIN/WHS number into our system which keeps all of your history and the same GHIN/WHS number. If you’d like to do this, please contact Erik or Sheila at Legacy Hills. Also, be sure to have your GHIN/WHS number to provide.

Please note that 2020 GHIN/WHS fees will be billed this month
and will show up on your statement that you receive in January.

SAVE THE DATE!
2020 Chili Bowl
January is here and with the New Year comes the Annual Chili Bowl Golf Tournament and Chili Cook-off! The event will be held on Saturday, Jan. 25 with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun at Cowan Creek which includes a 2-person scramble. Based on the composition of teams, we will have men’s flights, women’s flight(s) and mixed flights.
Chili Cook-Off
The event will be followed by a Chili Cook-Off lunch in the Georgetown/Florence Room and we encourage all of our chili cooks to bring their best chili to be judged by some outlaws! As a thank you to those who bring chili, there will be a gift for all of our cooks. This will be in addition to a nice little prize for the best pots of chili!
The entry form that will come out in next week’s communicator. Entry forms need to be returned to the Cowan Creek Golf Shop by Sunday, Jan. 19.

Super Bowl Scramble
Save the Date! We will be hosting the 2020 Super Bowl Scramble on Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 2. This event will be a 4-person scramble beginning at 8:30 a.m. at White Wing. Teams of all men, all women and mixed teams are encouraged to sign up and we will have flights based on the number of teams in each category.
Start getting your teams together now! Please watch for the official registration form in the Jan. 15 communicator.

Frost Delays
We have officially reached the time of year where frost delays are going to be a concern from time to time. Please remember that you may check on the status of the golf courses by calling the course condition lines and/or checking the online Chelsea system:
- Legacy Hills – 512-948-7560, option 1
- White Wing – 512-948-7570, option 1
- Cowan Creek – 512-948-7580, option 1
When temperatures indicate that frost is possible, we will block an appropriate number of tee times to help prevent an actual delay. By doing this, we can avoid having to push tee times back and it makes it much easier to communicate in a timely manner.

Adopt-A-Hole is looking for volunteers to join certain teams that could use additional members. Specific needs include:
- Legacy Hills #1, #9, #13, and #15.
- White Wing #5 and #16.
- Legacy Hills #1 and #13 teams are looking for a new team Captain.

Card Holders
Please remember to specify that you have an Afternoon Punch Card when checking in for your round. This is especially important for those that bought an Afternoon Punch Card in addition to another level of punch card. This will help avoid incorrect charges. Please remember, Afternoon Punch Cards are only good after 1 p.m.

Golf Cart ID Stickers
Every golf cart needs an ID sticker! These stickers are free and you can get them at the Member Services Office or any golf shop. It’s a simple process. All that is needed is a sticker affixed at the bottom/middle of your windshield. This important item allows us to identify who you are in the event of an emergency.
