The annual Veterans Day Ceremony is a special event open to the public honoring all those veterans who have served in our military forces, as well as those men and women who are serving today. The ceremony includes a dedication to Gold Star families and a musical salute to our armed forces.
 
Parking & Seating
Parking is available at the Social Center at 2 Texas Drive and across the street at the Activities Center at 1 Texas Drive. Seven-hundred folding chairs will be placed at the Memorial or guests are invited to bring a folding chair and sit under the trees.
 
The Community Association will serve refreshments on the Social Center patio after the ceremony.
 
* In the event of rain, the ceremony will be moved to the Ballroom which will have limited seating and it will be recorded so residents may watch the program live on Channel 18 or on the website following the event (www.sctexas.org/videos > Special Videos. Login Required).

This is your Friendly Reminder that our golf courses and practice areas are off limits to your dogs, so please do not bring them with you when using these amenities. Furthermore, you cannot walk your dog (s) on the courses after hours. Thank you in advance for your cooperation with this Policy.

If you are new to Sun City Texas, please join us for the New Resident Orientation.
 
At 8:30 a.m., the Club Fair begins. Enthusiastic residents will visit with you and tell you about their chartered clubs. The Community Association staff presentation begins at 9:15 a.m. and ends at 10 a.m. You will have an opportunity to meet the staff, learn how your Community Association operates and gather valuable information.

Wanted - NRO Bulletin Editor
 
The NRO Bulletin has been a monthly and bi-monthly publication sponsored by the Neighborhood Rep Organization for over 10 years with readership now over 12,000 residents! It is a vital piece to the communication framework in Sun City.
 
An editor is needed for The Bulletin. Computer skills are required and long-time editor Louise Smith will be available to train you. If you are interested or would like more information, please email your name and phone number to [email protected]. Someone from the NRO leadership team will call and discuss the position in more detail.

Dumpsters Are For Events ONLY
The dumpsters at Legacy Hills and Cowan Creek are for events at those sites ONLY! You may NOT use these dumpsters for personal use.
        
Schedule a Free Pick Up
Residents who have large bulky waste can contact the city two times a year to schedule a free pick up. Call 512-930-1715; this contact number is on your monthly utility billing statement.

U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree Stops In Georgetown
 
Sunday, Nov. 17
4 - 5 p.m. • The Square
 
The U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree will make a stop in Georgetown on its way to Washington, D.C., from Carson National Forest in New Mexico. The tree will be parked on Main Street between Seventh and Eighth streets from 4 - 5 p.m.
 
To celebrate, the City is hosting U.S. Capitol Tree Day in Georgetown on the Square from 2 - 5 p.m. There will be Santa Claus with reindeer and an antique sleigh, children’s crafts, U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree merchandise and Georgetown collectible ornaments.
 
The 60-foot tree is on its journey to the official tree lighting on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol building in early December.
Youth Fishing Derby on Nov. 10
 
Catch a fish and win a prize! Georgetown Parks and Recreation will host its annual Youth Fishing Derby on Sunday, Nov. 10. This family-friendly event takes place at Garey Park, 6450 RM 2243, from 1 - 4 p.m. Admission into the derby is $3 per person; spectators are no charge. The park's admission fees will be waived during the event. One fishing pole per person. Participation is open to children age 12 and younger and they must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Bikes collected will go to the Austin Yellow Bike Project, a non-profit providing bikes to needy residents. If you want to donate a bike, email the Club at [email protected] to arrange for pickup.
