Vendor Referral Books
Before Yelp and Google reviews, Sun City Texas began its own community review system – The Vendor Referral Books. These books offer helpful reviews of local vendors and tradesmen.
Available only to residents, you may look up various topics to see if anyone can recommend a good HVAC company, landscaper, handyman or home remodeler, along with over 40 other categories. The books can be read at the Social Center, Cowan Creek or The Retreat monitors’ desks and you must show your resident ID badge for access. Reviews are kept only one year.
You may look for reviews or submit a review using the Vendor Referral Form. Click Here to print a form or pick up one up at the monitors’ desk.

|
Have you ever wondered what exactly you can recycle? Below is a link to a comprehensive list of what you can recycle and where you can recycle it. It also clarifies what is considered hazardous waste. And, yes, sometimes it just tells you to throw it in the trash.
The list gets very specific, listing how to properly dispose of tires, suitcases, radios and even where to drop off your yarn and wine corks.
Click Here to read the complete list of items that can be recycled.

Georgetown PD Earns Statewide Accreditation
The Georgetown Police Department as earned the Recognized Law Enforcement Agency Award given by the Texas Police Chiefs Association. The award follows a two year application process which included a critical review of the agency’s policies, procedures, facilities and operations. Georgetown is only the 154th agency out of more than 2,700 agencies in the state to receive the recognition.
“Achieving this status places Georgetown among the state’s top law enforcement agencies,” Chief Wayne Nero said. “This process provided for an independent review of the department’s operations and should assure the residents of Georgetown that its police department is conforming to current state of the art standards and practices in law enforcement.”
