Golf Communicator April 3, 2019 MARK YOUR CALENDAR! Texas High School Golf Championships in Sun City Spectators are encouraged & volunteers are needed   6A at Legacy Hills May 13 & 14 - Girls May 20 & 21 - Boys    5A at White Wing May 13 & 14 - Girls May 20 & 21 - Boys   For the past several years Sun City has been honored to host the top Texas high school golfers for their year-end championships. This tournament in the past has hosted many players who went on to be successful pros such as Charles Coody, Tom Kite, Ben Crenshaw, Justin Leonard, and Jordan Spieth, so there is always a chance that spectators may witness a little bit of golf history. There will be two tournaments over four days at two of our golf courses.   Volunteers Needed There are many opportunities to volunteer for positions such as crossing guards, parking attendants, ball spotters, shuttle drivers and other duties as needed. You can select your volunteer position and date preferences. If you have questions or want to help, please contact Janice Brown at [email protected] or 512-943-0119.   Spectators We ask that residents utilize community streets to get around to different parts of the golf course and avoid driving the actual course as much as possible. There will be many family members of the players that are required to walk the course during play, so if residents can stay off the course as much as possible that will minimize golf course traffic during tournament play. If you do access the cart path on the golf course, please keep your golf carts on the cart path. Play starts at 8 a.m.   Parking There will be parking for coaches, players, rules officials and handicapped at the pro shops. All other parking will go to the “B” and “C” lots that will be identified with signage. Staff and volunteers will be directing traffic to the parking areas available for UIL Tournament guests and parents. Driving golf carts for shared parking lot spaces is highly encouraged. Rangefinder Strap. At legacy Hills, we have a nice selection of straps for laser rangefinders to help protect your valuable asset. They are very reasonably priced at $17.99!!   2018 Callaway Drivers and Fairway Woods PRICE REDUCTION!! Callaway Rogue drivers were $499 but are now $349. Rogue Fairway woods were $299 but are now $239. Rogue hybrids were $249 and are now just $199. Available at Legacy Hills. "Non-Resident" Guest Passes   For those that purchased their 2019 Annual/Combo pass or punch card in December of 2018, you received 2 or 4 guest passes.    These passes are currently for non-Sun City guests only and are not available to be used for other Sun City Residents.    Historically, at the end of the year we waive this stipulation but for the time being this is not available. If/when this changes, we will announce it. Afternoon Punch Cards Good After 1 p.m.   If you purchased an Afternoon Punch Card for 2019, please be sure to specify that you have an Afternoon Punch Card when checking in for your round. This is especially important for those that bought an Afternoon Punch Card in addition to another level of punch card. This will help avoid incorrect charges.  Legacy Hills Bunker Work   Legacy Hill holes #1, #5, and #9 are now open for the 90 degree cart rule and the bunkers are now in play!
