Retired sea captain Howard has a strained relationship with his daughter Grace. When Grace hires widowed housekeeper Annie to help him, Howard unexpectedly falls in love. He gives all of his affection to Annie and her family, but rejects his own daughter. Filmed on Achill Island off the west coast of Ireland, the tale revolves around different types of love: the love between a father and daughter, and a love story between two mature people, proving that new beginnings are never too late.

Building on a lifetime blessed by musical genes and working alongside Western Swing giants, fiddle player Jason Roberts leads world-class talents as front man of The Jason Roberts Band. Having spent his childhood among legends in Texas honky-tonks, Jason then played nearly 20 years with the world-famous band Asleep at the Wheel where he soaked up the very best of Western Swing. He brings his own signature style to this traditional American genre earning two Grammy Awards and four individual Hall of Fame inductions. Austin-based musician, singer and songwriter Mandy Prater would probably tell you that music saved her life many times since she started her first garage band as a teen in small-town Indiana. She writes about love, vulnerability and the courage to be authentic with melodies that are accessible while still maintaining an edge. Her single, “On The Outside” released in 2021 reached both the Texas Internet Radio and Texas Country Music Radio charts. Please join us for an exciting night of music as we welcome Mandy to The Retreat!

The first time indie-folk Americana duo Miranda Dawn and Chris Hawkes played music and sang together, their “harmony just fell in...” Their initial effort, Golden Heart, reached Billboard’s Folk chart and landed at #2 on iTunes, kicking off a whirlwind of touring and co-writing for the pair. Miranda and Chris have drawn their musical inspiration from American deserts and mountains to the South Australian coast while navigating a shared journey through mortality, grief, and compassion for differing perspectives. Join us in the ballroom as Dawn & Hawkes debut in Sun City!

Chris Hawkes has also played lead guitar and sings with Sister Golden Hair – they call him “Mister Golden Hair.” Also, a little-known fact, Dawn & Hawkes were on the TV series, The Voice, three years ago and Adam Levine was their judge.
