Did you know? Scammers can now call you, using the voice of your grandchild or other relative, and the voice may be so perfect that you will not be able to tell that it is not really your grandchild or other relative calling? Voice cloning has advanced rapidly recently. Call the child or a family member who can locate the child using a number you know to be correct. If no one can locate the child, the Georgetown Police ask you to call their non-emergency number (512) 930-3510. If necessary, of course call 911. Topics such as this, and many others, are discussed in our Scams and Computer Safety SIG meetings.
